About the Journal
Scientific and Technical Information, a national academic journal edited and published quarterly by the Budapest University of Technology and Economics National Technical Information Centre and Library starts its 69th year in 2022. The journal covers theoretical and practical aspects of library science and professional and scientific information, especially regarding the challenges the field faces with the emergence of information and knowledge society and the application of state of art information technology. Published articles have DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
Journal sections
Recommendations: there is a recommendation at the beginning of each issue by the editor or one of the authors.
Articles, studies: two or three publications on current topics. Thematic issues and the issues presenting a specific library feature several shorter articles from various authors.
Workshop: presentation of the new projects in libraries.
Reports, Referrals, Reviews: thematic events, conferences, award ceremonies, book presentations
News: selected current domestic and international news
Authors are entitled to publish manuscripts according to the following rules:
- Before publishing in TMT, authors have the option of publishing their work as a preprint (unreviewed manuscript version) on a personal or institutional server or repository.
- Articles published online first have the same value as those published in issues, they have an active DOI, and they are referrable.
- The authors declare that they are aware of the publication conditions contained in the TMT Authors' Guide and comply with the required content.
- Articles may be published elsewhere with appropriate reference to the publisher's version and must include the publisher's PDF version. Reference sample:
