International registration systems of periodical publications
Abstract
Towards the middle of the past decade the opinion gained ground, that mankind's intellectual capital can be utilized economically only with international collaboration now it is maintained that the technical requisites, indispensable to this, e.g. computer, are presently at the disposal of mankind.
In the frames work of UNISIST, the world information-syetem established in 1971, the ISDS (International Serials Data System) have started operation, its task being the organization and steady building of the computerized registration of scientific and technical periodicals published all over the world.
The ISDS is the networt of co-operative nation (regional) centres, the activites of which are governed by internationally accepted common rules, standards.
