Some characterics and requirements of technical and economic information in the field of building
Abstract
The authors start from the fact that no effort to build up and develop special information systems, an activity which has recently been given a new impetus, may yield result in any field (with the individual branches of national economy implied), unless it is preceded by a thoroughgoing analysis of the given technical or economic branch to be serviced. It is only with such an analysis that those special features on which the given information system is to be built up can be explored.
The authors illustrate such an analysis necessary from the aspect of building up an information system, through the example of the technical and economic information system of building. The technical and economic peculiarities of this branch serve as a starting point. In this context, the paper refers to the institutional structure of the branch, and also to the particular role played by building design.
Furthermore, they examine those characteristics which mostly result from the above-mentioned peculiarities, technical and economic, of this branch, but now they are discussed from the viewpoint of the related knowledge and information.
Having analysed the peculiarities of special information necessary in this field, the authors proceed to formulate the most essential tasks and requirements of technical and economic information work in building, i.e. those which seem to be most decisive and valid for this industrial branch.
