The organization of information work and the development of its methods in the Hungarian Central Technical Library and Documentation Centre (OMKDK)

Abstract

The third part of a series surveying the activities of the Hungarian Central Technical Library and Documentation Centre (OMKDK) treats the development of the methodology of special library and documentation services, as well as the methodological and organizational tasks assigned to the library within the country's information system. Having outlined the history of these activities, it tends to give an account of the state and achievements of such fields as mechanized information processes, other development works, coordination, methodological activities, training in librarianship and documentation, publicatioan on various problems of information, technical films and other audio-visual media. The study points out the major difficulties and the main treads of further work in this field.
