Small-film in microfilm technique
Abstract
Up-to-date cameras and photochemicals (negative materials) have permitted the application of small-film in microfilming. The cost of the small-film is considerably lower than that of normal microfilm and much more documents may be stored on one reel due to the larger reduction ratio. This is why the 16 mm microfilm may effectively be need for the purposes of rationalization, especially in adminiatrative data processing.
The article analyzes in details the various 16 and 8 mm cameras, processing devices, readers and enlargers. It also deals with the coding possibilities of 16 mm microfilms and with the problems of storing and retrieval. The capacities of the individual document storing systems are shown on a separate table.
