Abstract

The symposium was organized by the Committee for Developing Countries of the International Federation for Documentation (FID/DC), in co-operation with the Deuteche Stiftung für Entwicklungelander and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Dokumentation at Bad Godesberg (Federal of German Republic) on 28 to 30 November 1967.
Altogether 10 lectures were delivered at the meetings attended by 32 invited experts. The lectures and the subsequent discussions concentrated on the responsibilitiss of government agencies and private organizations of the developing countries in the field of planning and development of documentation.
The participants of the symposium accepted twelve recommandations which, after having been submitted to the competent authorities, may give practical support to the improvement of the documentation services in developing countries.
