Technical-economic information in the sphere of the Ministry of Heavy Industry
Abstract
A survey carried out in 1967 in the Institute of Industrial Economy and Plant Organization attached to the Ministry of Heavy Industry is reviewed and the conclusions are drawn.
The survey covered the Ministry, its departments as well as its entarprices and institutions. More than half of the entarprices, trusts syndicates, research and planning institutes were requested to report on the present state of information and their own concepts and demands in this field. In addition, some of the most important organizations were also personally interviewed. The information received provided a most detailed picture.
On the basis of the data received from various ministerial bodies and from the survey, the information model of the Ministry was drawn up. This model gives a picture on the types of information required and supplied by the Ministry, their frequency and volume as well as on the Ministry's most important information channels directed towards extenal organizations and institutions and towards the internal ministerial departments and also among the Ministry itself and its experprises.
Finally, proposals were elaborated on the development of the information system, aimed at covering a system covering the whole field without being centrally controlled but operating under the co-ordination organized by the Ministry.
