Technical projects and plans as information sources
Abstract
Data and information included in technical drawings, projects and plans have so far in Hungary not been regularly utilized as information sources.
The main obstacle in using them lies in the fact that the collections of projects in the planning and projecting institutes, the storage of them and their registering do not make it possible to select and retrieve rapidly and easily the needed data according to their contents.
This obstacle is relatively easily to be overcome by using manual (edge-punched, visual) punched cards and by microfilmtechniques. These methods have already been widely applied in other fields.
After discussing the ways of storage to serve easy retrieval in one of the projecting institutes, a proposal is made to improve existing practices.
