Economical enlargement of microfilm
Abstract
Dry copying is one of the most uptodate and economical methods for the enlargement resp. copying of microfilms. The electrostatic methods are used for instance in the Xerox Copyflo equipment. In other processes, the magnified copies are made on zincoxid coated papers.
Besides the dry processes some new, so-called wet developing methods have also been introduced by which - in using special chemicals and equipment - the development-time ie greatly reduced. Through this significant shortening of development time, the magnifying process of microfilms became much more economical.
The "Recordac-Magnaprint" microfilm realer and magnifying equipment makes use of the single bath development principle. Some data on the Magnaprint operating coste are given, as well as a comparison with the costs of the various other methods.
