Symposia and conferences on scientific and technical information organized by the member-states of the Council of Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA)
Abstract
Since 1965 the Permanent Working Group on Scientific and Technical Information set up in the frame of the Permanent Committee for Coordinating Scientific and Technical Research of the CMEA is organizing two or three symposia or conferences annually, with the view of studying various important problems of information work. So far the following symposia and conferences were held:
1. Mechanization and automation of processing, retrieval, publishing and dissemination of scientific and technical information. Moscow, 1965.
2. Training programmes of the personnel of scientific and technical information centres. Warszawa, 1965.
3. Economic and technico-economic information for directing bodies and management personnel. Praha, 1965.
4. Elaboration of descriptor systems and their application in
information retrieval. Berlin, 1966.
5. Theory and practice of the use of punched cards in information centres. Warszawa, 1966.
6. Application of univereal electronic computers in information centres. Moscow, 1967.
7. Mechanical translation. Budapest, 1967. A short account of these symposia is given.
