Development of the Hungarian-Soviet relations in the field of technical films
Abstract
The Soviet State Committee for the Motion Picture Industry together with the State Committee for Science and Technology, follow with considerable attention the coordinated development of technical film production. The all-union and regional short-film studios, the ministries of education, and of various industries and their information centres, as well as the film studios of technical universities, produce more than 1000 technical films annually. In recent years mutual information was supplied within the framework of the Council of Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA), both on production plans and films produced. The Soviet Union participates regularly at the Budapest Technical Film Festival, and Hungarian technical films are more and more frequently shown at exhibitions and conferences in the Soviet Union. Useful relations have also been established to improve the production of research films. On the occasion of the jubiles exhibition "50 years of Soviet Science and Technology" in Budapest, tens of thousands of experts attended the projection of the 40 Soviet films shown in connection with the exhibition. New initiatives were made on both sides to develop further co-operation.
