Processing all the means and possibilities of communication in special libraries 1.
Abstract
With a wider understanding of the second and third Library Laws of Ranganathan one can say that "every user his information" and also the other way round "every information its user". According to the above requirements a special library has to collect, registrate, process and disseminate not only books (or in general graphical documents) but information on any carrier material as well.
All information, data, knowledge, event, that is to be found in the field of the special library - interesting for users - and are fixed by any disseminatable form belongs to the domain of that library. According to his function the special library, taking into consideration the users' needs, has to see for "receivers" of all important knowledge, publications, broadcastings and, to connect all receivers in need of information with that "output station", which probably gives proper informations in the right time and place.
The author analyses this rather complicated procedure; defines the essentials of the procedure of informing, the information, and the data, their nature, character and connection. The procedure of informing is analysed according to the communication theory; information is treated mainly from the point of view of cybernetica; information theory and further information-psychology; the procedure of informing is outlined according to the relation between informer and user, further typological and sociological aspects of the ueer.
