Internetwork co-operation between the Central Library of the Technical University Budapest and the Hungarian Central Technical Library and Documentation Centre

Abstract

The several years old occasional connections between the Central Library of the Technical University Budapest and the Hungarian Central Technical Library and Documentation Centre have been settled, in September 1964, by the two institutions concerned in the form of an “internetwork co-operation”.
This co-operation contract covers accession, processing, reader service, public relations, information and documentation, system organization, and the co-ordination of methodological as well as educational activities.
On grounds of the experiences gathered last year, co-operation was considered successful by the librarians and staff of both libraries, respectively, and the contract was renewed as well as extended to cover a few more articles, at the beginning of this year. Thus the collection and exploration of the doctors’ theses submitted to Hungarian technical universities, the issue of publications, and the utilization of audio-visual media in education have also been co-ordinated.
