32nd FID Conference in Hague, September 1966.
Abstract
The 32nd Conference of PID accepted several important resolutions which will undoubtedly increase its activities in the future. The new statutes were finally approved; the new officers have been elected: the creation of new committees and the assignment of their presidents and secretariates have been sanctioned; and it was accepted the invitation from the USSR Member to have the 34th Conference in Moscow in 1968.
At a joint meeting of IFLA and FID officers and Committee Chairman of the two organization's activities, increased co-operation and elaboration of joint programmes have been discussed.
According to the new statutes a Board of Committee Chairman was formed. Its future sessions will undoubtedly contribute to a more effective guidance, co-ordination and popularization of the FID committees activity.
In addition to the official meetings of the various committees during the conference, so-called open Programme Sessions were organized for the first time within the frame of theae sessions committee chairman outlined the aims and programmes of FID Study Committees. These sessions were well attended and - as reflected by the keen discussions - favourably accepted.
A supplement to the report contains information on the activities of the FID and the IFLA issued in the circular letter FID B 66-26.
