Perfection of the economic system in socialist countries

Abstract

The above mentioned journal aims to further the solution of the question of improving the economic system through the dissemination of the literature published in the socialist countries on this subject. The journal offers abstracts of the studies and reports dealing with questions of the reform of economic management and planning, such as centralized management versus independence of enterprises; prices, marketing, monetary incentives, credit etc. Articles from the most important economic periodicals and dailies of the European socialist countries are being apparently abstracted. Altogether about 60 source publications are used as a basis for processing. Besides these sources processed regularly the journal provides information about significant publications issued in other sources. The journal was first issued in October 1965 and is since published monthly on some 70 pages. In view of the great interest shown in its subject, the journal has gained in a short time wide popularity.
In publishing the journal the Hungarian Central Technical Library and Documentation Centre tries to provide very quick information on the very important subject. The time lag between the publications of the original contribution and the abstract amounts to 2-3 months.
