Abstract

In the field of information services the documentation on production management and organization has grown to be a special branch during the last decade and half. Sources of this documentation area are at first the professional periodicals, however, sources represented by special books, proceedings of congresses and conferences, publications of international organizations and scientific institutions, etc. are of importance too. The functions of documentation on production management and organization have been tranferred to the Hungarian Technical Library (OMKDK) on winding up the Documentation Centre on Economics. In the abstract journal of "Production organization - Management" the OMKDK continuously reports on foreign literature on production management and organization and, in addition, through its thematic card and abstract services, literature searches (bibliography), and monographic literature survey publications informs on the overall literature of this field. Number of reviews published in the abstract journal "Production organization-Management" increased during the period 1955 to 1964 from 726 to 3455, and the number of periodicals reviewed from 28 to 70. The main trends of production management and organization documentation to be advanced are: extension of the basis of the abstract journals, processing of not-published sources in an increased volume, and, further development of monographic literature survey publications and lists of bibliography type.
