International Standarzitation Conference in Budapest Present Standardization Tasks in Documentation
Abstract
The publication of National Standards of library and documentation reference character is prepared by the Library and Documentation Special Committee of the Hungarian Standard Bureau. There are 18 compulsory standards in force at present with a total extent of over 20 sheets.
Among the standards published earlier, the revision of the Standard of Title Description of Library Items is under progress, in accordance with the respective resolutions of the Paris Conference. Hungary is one of the active (P) members of the Documentation (Technical Committee No. 46 of the International Standard Organization /ISO/TC 46).
ISO/TC 46 submitted so far 14 international standard recommendations and 6 recommendation drafts.
There are significant activities carried on within the individual Working Groups the sessions of which, and the completion of the tasks refered to, will take place in course of the 10th General Assembly meeting to be held in Budapest, in October 1964.
