Elaboration of a new standard f or title entries

Abstract

It is twelve years now, that we enploy the Standard for title entries in library cataloguing work, bibliographical and documentarian publications. In accordance with the move to unify international practice, motioned at the Paris International Cataloguing Conference of 1961, and also taking into account home experience, the revision of this standard has been found necessary. The Hungarian Standards Office created a Committee, consisting of the cataloguing experts, who had elaborated the Hungarian suggestions put forward at the Paris Conference, and this Committee has started work on the revision of the title entries Standard, in 1963. The revisory report concerning the modification of the standard has been completed, and in addition to the modifications and new items to be integrated, it also makes suggestions as to the content and structure of the standard.
