The profitability of intellectual investments with particular respect to operational conditions
Abstract
To promote any productive activity, it is necessary to provide for, besides other preconditions, certain knowledge material. This knowledge material available within a given economic unit (such as an enterprise) is called intellectual capital. Intellectual capital investment means investments to grant intellectual capital realized in form of financial or time and energy investments. According to author, parts of this intellectual capital investment system are represented, from an engineering aspect, by professional training, professional public and shop libraries, engineering scientific research work etc. The present paper wants to discuss principally factory-level investments distinguishing, in this respect, between operational (company, government) and personal investments. The profitability of such investments depends greatly on the investment policy and interrelation of the two investors (company management and employees). Author discusses in his paper the principal fundaments of this investment policy as well as the practical aspects concerning the selection of the correet policy to be followed.
