Technical-scientific motion pictures

Abstract

In the present age of the rapidly developing science and engineering, the technical methods of extending engineering knowledge and those of the continuous information service publishing the results obtained in scientific and technical fields do not meet the requirements anymore. This necessitates the increased utilization of the most efficient audio-visual means represented by technical-scientlfic motion pictures.
The technical-scientific motion pictures may be divided in two groups: the first includes pictures of the so-called research work character making these promote mastering new knowledges. Research films are particularly suitable to register the pictures of extremely slow moving actions, to photograph very small or oversized details, to record incidents where direct observation involves various hazards or the object to be photographed is not aocessible directly etc.
In spreading the existing technical-scientific knowledges, motion picture illustration is of special significance displaying great advantages as compared to other illustrative means. Motion pictures employed to transmit knowledges are classified into the groups of educational, special, popular-scientific, technical-documentary, propaganda and advertisement films.
Various government agenoies engaged in the technical-scientific motion picture business deal with the production, purchase, registration and distribution of such films. In the utilization of these films, the social organizations have important duties to accomplish. To further develop technical-scientific motion picture production and utilization, international connections and the various international organizations of the scientific motion picture industry are of great importance, primarily in the utilization of these films but, similarly, by the social co-operation and axchange of experiences of the specialists employed in the technical-scientific motion picture industry.
In the present evolutional phase of the motion picture production, the technical-scientific film industry presents itself as an independent organization.
