The "Műszaki Könyvtárosok Tájékoztatója" (Bulletin for Technical Librarians) abroad

Abstract

The "Műszaki Könyvtárosok Tájékoztatója" (MKT = Bulletin for Technical Librarians) is the periodical of Hungarian technical librarians documentalists. It started in 1954 as a local organ on the Hungarian Central Technical Library (OMK), but later on - parallel with the development of technical libraries and their network - it grew up to the level of a central periodical. Presently it appears bi-monthly in about 100 pages, with English, German or Russian informative abstracts and a German table of contents.
In 1960 the editorial board decided to take up connections with foreign periodicals and institutions. Thus MKT reached up to the present 30 periodicals and institutions abroad. Its articles are abstracted and indexed in various journals and documentation services, e. g. Library Science Abstracts, Revue de la Documentation, card service of the Institut für Dokumentation etc. The infornations within the MKT are to be fonund in various citations of foreign periodicals.
