Publication of research reports in the Research Institute for Automobile Transport

Abstract

Publication and indexing of research reports is becoming a central task of documentation all over the world. The Hungarian Research Institute for Automobile Transport (AKUTI) has to distribute reports among the enterprises and administrative organisations of the Ministry of Transport, to enable them to evaluate the results cf research and to introduce the same into the whole field concerned.
Before 1957 reports were entirely distributed among the enterprises and institutions and so only a few of them remained in the library. Since 1953, however, the sectional directorate took charge of the dissemination and utilization of reports. Ever since the library has received 3 copies of each report. At the same time the library collects and indexes in its monthly bulletin the material of the themes concerned. These materials are to be studied only within the library.
The library of the ATUKI pubishes the local research reports in the yearbook of the Institute and in other informative documents. Circulation and size of publications depend on the field of utilization and the importance of contents. Their contents apply to home use as well as to the use abroad. This letter scope is an important factor of establishing connections with foreign scientific institutions.
