Factory journals on technical propaganda

Abstract

Technical propaganda work must be increased in order to augment the results of industrial production. The propagation of technical literature within the scope of technical propaganda is of utmost significance. One of the most important tasks of scientific libraries consists in the propaganda of technical literature which they perform successfully when exploiting the possibilities offered by the various factory journals.
Some of the articles dealing with the propagation of scientific literature are deseribed that have appeared in a number of factory jorrnals. It can be stated on the basis of the examples listed that a description in the factory journals of the most recent processes of production in scientific books and periodicals is good method of propaganda. The annotation and critical evaluation of the most recently published technical books appears to be successful and efficient.
A few technical libraries - 10,2 per cent only - are utilizing the factory journals for the propagation of technical literature. It is essential that the important role of the factory journals in library propaganda work be recognized in all branches of industry and that the scientific libraries take advantage oí the factory journals extensively.
