Abstract

The efficiency of the work of a special library lies on the dissemination of information. Technical libraries in the Hungarian industry achieved great successes in this field but this part of their activity must be emphasises even more in the future.
The primary dissemination of the looal publioations (abstracting journals, lists, indexes etc./ is near to one-hundred-per-cent but only among the constant readers of the central and other outside services within the factories, research-and planning institutes is nearly not so satisfactory.
As a consequence of the technical documentation being centralized in the Hungarian Central Technical Library, special libraries in industry are only to complets the various types of central documentation services for their own use. So, the scope of secondary dissemination of abstracting publications within the enterprises is to be raised to the standard of that of the taylor-mode local services.
Tasks of dissemination: special librarians and documentalists must be acquainted with all domestic and foreign services of technical documentation; technicians in the industry must be supplied with the information of interest to them; documentalists must educate occasional readers to regular ones; obstacles of secondary dissemination (e.g. acquisition of central documentary publications only in one copy) must be removed etc.
