Acquisition, processing and storing of report literature in the Library of the Central Research Institute for Physics

Abstract

Within the scope of scientific literature a relatively new type, that of the so-called report-literature, is gaining more and more importance. The introduction of the article is giving a short review on the development, spreading and information transmitting importance of the report literature. Further, the development and activity of the Report Section of the Library of the Central Research Inatitute for Physics is being described. The stock of about 33.000 reports is growing by approx. 4000 reports per year, most of which are acquired in the frase of extensive international exchange relations which are being developped continuously. The problem of purchase and of acquisition in form of microfiche is also being discussed. The methods of processing, classification of the reports received by the library, are dealt with, as well as the information concerning the reports enabling not only the specialists of the inatitute but also these working in other institutions to use the stook of the report library.
