Report on the activities of the Technical Library of the Budapest Technical University in 1969
Abstract
In 1969 the Library's book collection was increased by 10.918 volumes and the special collections by 4713 items. The number of currently acquired periodicals was 1781. The library's collections thus comprise 275.674 volumes of books, 62.671 items in the special collections, and 69.352 volumes of periodicals. The number of registered readers was 10.625 and that of library items used 247.473. The Library produced 194.876 xerox copies to over 3500 customers. In 1969, the Library published its documentary publication Felsőoktatási Szakirodalmi Tájékoztató (Information Bulletin of Literature on Higher Education), and a periodical dealing with the methodological questions of librarianship. Within the serial publications; the library published two volumes: one on literature search in the field of electrotechnice and another containing data on technical higher education in Italy. Apart from these, the Library also published two works on the history of science and a list of books and periodicals on audio-visual methods. 500 engineering students attended courses in technical literature search.
