Abstract

The paper gives the text of an interview with Mr. Yaroslav DORSKY, Deputy-Director of the International Centre for Scientific and Technical Information in Moscow.
This international organization started working on September 1, 1969, involving Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, the German Democratic Republic, Hungary, Mongolia, Poland, Rumania and the Soviet Union as its member countries.
The Centre
-prepares recommendations for the methodology and the use of various means and devices aimed at the development of an international scientific and technical information system;
-renders information services;
-supplies data on development, both scientific and technological;
-conducts scientific research, both theoretical and practical;
-offers organizational, methodological, scientific and technical assistance to its member countries;
-offers assiatance in the training of information specialists and in the organization of refresher-cources.
The Centre's tasks are defined by long- and short-term programs.
The language of any participating country is considered as the Centre's official language. The working language is Russian.
