Preparing application profiles for RDA. Pilot project for the development of application profile methodology

Abstract

The development of application profiles is not a new task in librarianship either. With the transformation of the RDA framework it is more relevant now than ever. RDA after the 3R project will no longer be usable without an application profile and related policies. However, the need to develop application profiles has preceded the crystallization of the methodology to develop them. The pilot project running at the Library Standardization Office of the National Széchényi Library aims, on the one hand, to create a general RDA application profile, and to map which methods are most effective in creating an application profile for a framework with many elements, on the other.
