Abstract

More and more forums are discussing the need to communicate the methods and results of scientific research not only to the profession but also to decision-makers and the general public in a clear, precise, understandable and comprehensible way. At the same time, the impact and perception of oral and written scientific communication can be either positive or negative for the reputation of the researcher and the institution that employs him or her. However, in order to tip the scales more often in favour of positive impacts, it is essential to assess and understand attitudes towards science communication and to develop related skills. To help in this process, a survey was carried out among researchers at MATE to investigate the importance of institutional communication in promoting science.
