Abstract

Developing financial literacy for all ages is a strategic objective at global level. In this series of studies, we will highlight library initiatives to promote informed financial decisions. Our aim is (1) to integrate a field that is typically foreign to librarians into the Hungarian professional bloodstream, thereby improving the financial literacy of librarians, including librarian education; (2) to share international library best practices with an adaptive orientation, catalyzing the introduction of new financial education (and business development) services in all types of libraries; (3) indirectly, to raise the prestige and social utility of the Hungarian library system and librarians. In Part 3, we present the results of our first questionnaire survey of Hungarian librarians in 2022, in order to identify strategic intervention options adapted to the Hungarian context, based on the opinions of our colleagues.
