Abstract

Open Journal Systems is an open source solution for publishing and managing scientific journals online. It includes many innovative features, increases the transparency of journals’ policy, and improves indexing. With OJS 3 the Library and Information Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA KIK) provides a journal editor system for common use, free of charge, under open access. As an advantage, this system allows to build out various export options, for example for DOI registration or data transfer to the Database of Hungarian Works (MTMT). This saves considerable working hours for editors, as well as DOI registrars and MTMT administrators. MTA KIK assists the co-operation of the institutions using the OJS software, promotes an exchange of experiences between them through a shared knowledge sharing platform, and set up a Hungarian national OJS user group.
