New trends in the European library policy: The PULMAN Network of Excellence project

In conjunction with the formation of information soci-ety, the European Union pays distinguished attention to the problems of information and related fields. For the development of public library supply, the PublicA program, followed by the related Public übraries Mobilising Advanced Networks (PULMAN) pro]ect was launched. Public libraries in Central and Eastern Europe may jóin both actions. Two major goals of the PULMAN project are the formation of public library policy, and the development of cooperation between public collections. Digital guides have been prepared for the participants. Hungary has alsó joined these efforts.
