The new library programmes of the German Research Society (DFG)

In December 2001 Ms. Sigrun Eckelmann, Head of the Library Projects of DFG visited the Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and presented an overview on the possibilities of co-operation with DFG's new library programmes. She proposed to spread the information in the research community of the Academy as possibilities for Hungarian instítutions and libraries to co-operate with Germán partners in developing information ínfrastructure for research co-operation and digitaí publishing (programme 1.54), including the retrospective digitalization of library collections (1.52), and participation in international co-operative projects in the „Distributed Digital Research Libraries" funding area (1.53). The objectives of these programmes can alsó sérve as models for the long-term planning of modern electronic services and co-operation in Hungary.
