Special collections and their functions in the Budapest Ervin Szabó Library (FSZEK), Hungary

Abstract

Three services for special library functions of FSZEK are presented. The Musics Collections have been operating since 1964. Their users include research scientists and lecturers in Musics, performers and students. The Sociology Special Division's collection is an integrál part of the central library's collections, therefore its special services provide national special library functions, ratherthan appearing as a classical special collection. The Budapest Collection is a traditional spe-ciai collection of FSZEK that performs recently alsó the handling of museum type documents. Ali three special divisions of FSZEK has been participating from the very beginning of computerized library development activities, and has future plans for further automation.
