Twenty years of fifty. The journal TMT (Scientific and Technical Information, Hungary) from 1983 to 2003

Abstract

The last twenty years is presented of the Journal that started 50 years ago, with reference to two earlier papers on the first thirty years. Using statistical analysis methods, trends for editing the journal, contributing authors, topics published have been examined. Debates published in the journal, and some topicai issues are highlighted. The digests presented by the journal reflect actual trends in library and information issues worldwide, while they fali in line with the interests and demands of the Hungárián readers. Finally, the readers of TMT, its various characteristics and its e-version are discussed. The Appendix shows results of a survey on the reception of the journal.
