Development trends of university libraries in Hungary

Abstract

Integrating characteristics of libraries in Hungárián higher education institutions are discussed that are being recognized more and more by their environ-ment. Therefore, their proper development contribute to the healthy functioning of the entire library system in Hungary. Development should be concentrated to organizational and structural change, to the utilization of electronic environment, and to the consolidation of financing. These three issues of development for better chances of library matters in Hungary are considered, taking into account international trends as well.
