Abstract

The possibilities are explored, with special regard to corporate speciai libraries, of the ways of integrating information and knowledge management elements into a library's work so that the new services offered by the information and knowledge centre be indispensable for the company, and be the key player for processing data, information and knowledge management in the organization. Starting from the situation assessment of corporate libraries, the expectations of the host organization, the possibilities of the information audit, and the necessity of changes are discussed. The possible alterations are illustrated through examples, showing methods for how traditional library functions can be matched with recent activities that had been out of librarians' scope earlier, and how the növel service portfolio could be formed.
