Abstract

In this series of papers the concepts of information science, their evolution, appearance and interrelations are presented in their historical development. In this cultural historical presentation, another aim is to establish a model that forms our view of information in an uniform frame. In this second part of the series the following items are discussed: the conditions and circumstances of cognitive performances; some differences between man and early hominides; characteristics of archaic thinking, formation of counting and number scribing, elementary operations. They are presented using the tools and results of archaeology, ethnology and linguistics.
