Historical background of information science. Part 5

Abstract

In this series the concepts of information science, their evolution, appearance and relationships are presented, in the framework of the development of these concepts. In addition to establish a cultural historical tableau, the aim is to create a model for forming a more unified image of information. In this fifth part the 150-year deveíopment history of electricity, magnetism, electronics and computing technology is overviewed, and the problems of the 20th century mathematics and logics are outlined that have been solved as the basics of present-day computers.
