The information industry: quo vadis

Abstract

For years now we are talking about the serials crisis and not so much was done. Now, finally it seems some very valuable initiatives were taken all related to breaking the ever-spiraling cost of scientific information. Yet we must be careful to not break the present system apart very fast before we have something new in place that works.
