AROMO: New WWW service from library catalogues

Abstract

The Hungarian libraries have obtained a new Internet service. The central server and service, called AROMO, solves the problems of extensive network accessing of small library catalogues available only on local networks. The result has a broader implication than the original objectives of the project: an effective and distributed topology open system has been created which, in cooperation with Közelkat, improves its performance, and opens up new possibilities for searching library and otherdatabases in any combtnation.
