System change in libraries

Abstract

In market economies with good prosperity information has higher value than consumer goods. After the economic system's change in Hungary, this fact has been recognized, and the demand for business information is growing steadily. As international practice shows, business information centres should be established that should be operated by libraries. A short overview of the present situation is shown, and information assistance is provided for the Hungarian public libraries by taking into account the most important, nonconventional documents.
