Abstract

Analysing bibliometric data of some selected journals representing physical chemistry, it was revealed that referencing to journals with relatively high impact factor is strongly preferred. Thematic overlaps of the journals were characterized by the frequency of references. Physical chemistry seems to be rather inhomogeneous, thematically. This fact should be taken into account in studying individual sets of papers.
