University basis in Debrecen, Szombathely, Nyíregyháza and Szeged, Hungary, for the training of general librarians and reference librarians

Abstract

The 50th anniversary of Roland Eötvös University's Department of Library and Information Science was celebrated by a scientific meeting. On this occasion the Professional training programs at various universities were reported, including their establishment, present status and expected future. Though the training curricula at these universities are much diversified, they stay on a common ground in the following aspect: the core of all training courses is centered around information science and advanced information technologies.
