Electronic journals - prospects, technology, problems

Abstract

Electronic journals in sciences are presented, using a small bulletin - the Information Bulletin on Variable Stars of the International Astronomical Union, published by the Konkoly Observatory, Budapest, Hungary, as an example. Features of such publications are discussed, together with the technology used. The author deals also with the chailenges that creators of small electronic publications may encounter.
