Hungarian medical electronic journals on the World Wide Web

Abstract

Hungarian electronic journals in medical and health care fields are evaluated. The journals are categorized according to their preliminaries, availability, contents and subject fields. The question of how electronic journals can substitute their printed equivalent is attempted to answer. Based on timeliness, on the versatility of search and retríeval, and on the existence of archives, a substantial risk is involved if a library decides to substitute Hungarian printed publications with electronic journals, however, smart librarians could use the latter for extending existing collections.
