Electronic information tools of the Patent Library of the Hungarian Patents Office. Part 2.

Abstract

The second part of the series presenting HPO Patent Library's electronic information tools and services the Eastern and Central European regional patent facsimile and bibliographic data-bases, ESPACE PRECES and ESPACE PRECES ACCESS, resp, is described. Two databases for trademark search with identical search capabilities and record structure, but different data contents are also discussed: ROMARIN for international, and TRACES for national trademark applications. In the Patent Library online databases can also be searched, in addiüon to printed and optical disk collections. The presentation of the most frequently used databases and search types is supplemented by showing additional information possibilities. The Internet has also penetrated the intellectual property information field. The Library makes possible free internet access for its users, especially to the intellectual property titles available from the HPO's home page. The webpages of the HPO are presented followed by the description of two international patent databases accessed through the webpages of the US IBM Intellectual Property Network, and the „esp@cenet" of the European Patent Office, respectively.
