Abstract

To overcome the challenge of the „joumal crisis" due to the dramatic growth of the prices of printed journals, the large multinational publishers make tremendous efforts to perform as subscription agencies in the distribution of new electronic versions of their publications. The author, the European manager of one of the leading subscription agencies, from the point of view of his firm analyzes the evolution of the electronic joumal market, the related hazards and the strategy of his company.
