References to electronic information sources

Abstract

A brief overview is presented of the bibliographic elements and formats for references to various electronic sources. British and American examples are shown primarily, and everyday librarians' experiences are referred to. Considering the practice that has been more or less accepted generally, a framework for a possible standardization is proposed. The compilation may help authors who make references also to digital documents.
