Description of the Medical Library of Zala County Hospital, Hungary, and its quality assurance

Abstract

In the town Zalaegerszeg (in the South-Western part of Hungary), the Medical Library of Zala County hospital introduced in 1994 the Total Quality Management (TQM) system recommended in that year, and has been using it since. The results have exceeded expectations. The way from the traditional library to the advanced information centre is demonstrated, describing what had been completed so for and what has been left to accomplish.
